Every organism, named and measured
An at-home sample, sequenced in UKAS-accredited laboratories, reported at species level with relative abundance — then explained by a clinician.
What the sequencing reports
All Lactobacillus
The protective species that hold reproductive pH. We report every one, not a representative few.
All commensal & pathogenic bacteria
Everything present, at species or strain level, with its relative abundance as a percentage.
All yeast & fungi
Every Candida species and moulds such as Aspergillus — the organisms swab culture routinely misses.
Why NGS rather than PCR or culture
Next-generation sequencing analyses complex microbial communities in a single run. It identifies bacteria and fungi even at low abundance, and classifies them at species or strain level. Conventional PCR screens only for the organisms it was designed to look for; culture grows only what will grow in laboratory media. Sequencing also returns the relative amount of every species present — which neither PCR nor swab culture can do.

Before you decide
All ScreenMe tests use next-generation sequencing to detect every bacterial and yeast species present: all beneficial bacteria (Lactobacillus), all harmless commensals, all disease-causing organisms, and all pathobionts that only cause problems when they overgrow — including Ureaplasma, Mycoplasma, Strep and BV.
Every kit is designed for non-invasive collection at home. Kits fit through any letterbox and include instructions specific to the test, so anyone can collect their own sample.
No. ScreenMe tests are not diagnostic and are not intended to replace advice from your GP or clinician.
Support calls are provided when results indicate an imbalance that requires clinical interpretation.
